Interesting "Narrow Cub" on eBay!

Postby Into Tractors » Thu Jan 25, 2007 4:15 pm

Ran across this "RARE International Farmall Cub Custom Built Narrow" listed on eBay today.

http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-International- ... dZViewItem

Thing looks so narrow, I'd almost be afraid it would fall over during a turn :!:

Sure resembles a Cub one of our members over in France posted sometime back :?:

i have seen a couple of these narrow cubs. for the most part someone cut them down themselves. they were used mainly in wine country to cultivate the grapes. also saw one used to keep the grass mowed in a pinetree farm. they are very top heavy. I pushed on the side of one and almost tipped it over.

i believe they were commonly referred to as vineyard cubs, and Mike did bring some back form France. In my area, they also did a similar modification to use them for cleaning between the cages in chicken houses.

Mike's story of the French Vinyard Cub is an interesting one. He sent me some pictures of it while it was still in England. I think it's narrower than the one on eBay.

A guy had one at a tractor show in Mo, a couple years ago that had a cultivator tool bar on the rear he kept just above the ground to prevent tipping. When he drove though a shallow hole he need it.

I'd want outriggers!

Do you remember the guy in the raincoat riding the tricycle that would keep tipping over on Laugh In in the '60's?
