Gilles - it appears to be a very faded standard cub.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Gilles - later cubs had the underslung exhaust. The picture is kind of small for my tired old eyes but the tractor appears to be a late 50's cub with the early fast hitch. The handle on the right side is the bail adjust lever for the fast hitch. The grille is the 55 - 57 style grille.

find more details so I don't make the same mistake  like may be the seat or the tires size; any suggestions would be appreciated.

Gilles - the easiest visual clue is looking at the front axle. On the standard cub, the axle tube is above the top of the tires as you see in that picture. On the lo-boy, the top of the front tires is above the axle crosstube. Also, on the lo-boy, the rear final drives turn forward rather than hang down.

Gilles:

If the Serial Number is 42013 and it is a regular Farmall Cub, then it is a 48 like Ellie. It is quite possible that the grille has been replaced - very common, and that the exhaust was also replaced (this is hypothetical I think). Also, that appears to be a hand lift as I cannot see a fast hitch, but then that pic is awful small. It is a preview pic in the edit folder of the Photo-Host. It has yet to be added to your album.

If you email me the original, I can post it.. and if it is larger we will be able to tell more with easier to view details...

With a serial number of 42013 it cannot be a Lo-Boy.. as the last Lo-Boy was yellow and white with a square nose in 1968 and it's Serial Number was 25998, so that is ruled out.

Either way, you are on the right track.. and yes that is a Cub and no you didn't make a mistake from what I see....

It is also possible that it is a plow depth control lever on the right side. The manual lift master control arm is on the left. (when used)

I kept thinking something looked odd about it, then realized there was no fender on it.

I think maybe the serial # is 4201J, which would make sense if you look at the all red paint, long handle on the hitch--looks like a '56 to me.
How can you have too many Cubs????
