Happy Christmas from a warm part of the world

Postby Denis » Sun Dec 24, 2006 6:19 am

Hello all,

I would like to wish you all a very Happy, Blessed and Peaceful Christmas from my part of the world. :D

Although I understand that it is warmer than normal in a lot of your areas I am sure that we will be still warmer. We will have our Christmas dinner consisting of cold meats and salads outside under the shade. A lot of time will be spent in a swimming pool and probably also go to the beach in the afternoon. :P Temperature here now is near to 100 degrees F. the same or more is forecast for the next few days.

Wherever you may be and whatever you intend to do tomorrow enjoy it!!

Denis

100 degrees???
Merry Christmas!!!!!!! Yup its going to be 50 degrees here today and I think the norm is between 2o to 30 degrees. I have plenty of wood piled up to burn but thats ok it will last for next year. I just planted over 100 christmas trees and i hope they wil make it because of the warmer days and the cold nights. If i knew the weather was going to hold off I could of planted 200 more trees. It is crazy weather patterns right now and i'm sure we will get some good snow falls soon too.

Your right I was going to work today but its going to wait till after christmas your right tis the season to enjoy it!!!!
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

Denis: 100 degrees ??? If the Western Cape is South Africa, the mountain looks familiar as I've been to Capetown. Yikes, the grass is always greener - literally. Happy holiday season to you as well. Craig

magnumpi, yes the Western Cape is South Africa. I live about an hours drive from Cape Town. Have you been to Cape Town or just seen pictues?

Denis: Have been to Capetown several times as I used to call on Christian Barnaard at Grote Schuur (sp) and a surgeon in Durban named Mr Rogers. Beautiful cities, indeed. This was in the early 80's when your politics were a bit different from what exists today. Craig

magnumpi, well if you are ever this way again please be sure to let me know.

Unfortunately Chris Barnard died a year or so ago as I am sure you are aware. His older brother Marius is retired and lives here in Hermanus, I happened to sit next to him in church this morning. He has been a great surgeon as well.

Yes the politics has changed a lot since the 80's when you were here but we still live in a very beautiful country with a lot of great people

Denis: Yes, I read of his death last year - he was a fun, upbeat guy who was enjoyable to be around. He was an early implanter/evaluator of the mechanical heart valve who's company I represented Internationally so we used him extensively to help us gain worldwide acceptance of it. I'd love to return, it is truly beautiful - it was so much easier when someone else was paying the bills !! Merry Xmas to you and your family. Craig
