Cub Mower

I bought a bunch of IH pieces and in the pile was an item part #458979R1 i checked with IH dealer and came up with a description as being a clamp for a 105 IH rotary mower for a cub with G-32cutter bar the picture shows it as being a sickle mower does anyone know anything about this mower or need this piece.

You just ran across one of the strange errors that crept into the on-line parts catalog. The description identifies the 105 as a rotary but it is really a balanced head cutter bar type intended for highway mower use. By the way, G-32 isn't the cutter bar option. It identifies the illustration which was on page G-32 of the hard copy Parts Catalog.

Part 458979R1 is the clamp for the later style (1960 and up) outer grass rod. As far as I know, it was used on all IH cutter bar mowers after that date. Anyone with any Cub cutter bar that decides to replace a wooden grass board with the later style rod could use it.
