Postby 48 BARNEY CUB » Tue Nov 28, 2006 11:58 am

OK GUYS THIS MIGHT BE A DUMB QUESTION BUT ON A 48 CUB THE ORIGINAL SEAT WAS MADE OF CANVAS OR VINYL & ALL SILVER? BUT THE PAN :?

DOSE ANYONE KNOW WERE TO GET A REPRODUCTION SEAT IF THEY WERE MADE OF CANVAS FOR A REASONABLE PRICE?

to answer your other question, I believe that the standard cub seat pan was just plain red sheet metal and no covering, that was extra.

In 1948 the uphoulstry would have been black. Silver came later. The metal pan was red.

I have a black vinyl reproduction on my Super A and really like it. Can't tell the difference between the original unless you get "up close."

I know your talking about the seat pans on the farmall's.

Just food for thought, On my 154 int. just ordered a new seat from northern with an extra high back for my lower back it needs more support. They sent me a toro seat but it feels awesome. They just had a yellow seat on sale for $14 it came with a peel off JD sticker so its perfect for a cub cadet just peel off the sticker on the back.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.
