i have a 47 cub bought a tc unit went to line up holes for bolts and there are holes but no threads :cry: can i tap the holes any ideas

Sodbuster ,
There is probably cork in the holes. I beleve the cork was put in the holes at the factory to keep the paint out of the threads. Run a tap in the holes to clean them out.

There are 2 holes at each end of the TC that should line up with holes in the torque tube, that as SteveB stated may have cork in them tha needs to be cleaned out of the threads. the 6 or 8 other holes you see are depressions for the heads of the bottom plate bolts to fit into.

You might also want to check out the GSS-1024-Touch Control Service Manual on the Manual Server. It will help clear up a lot of questions.. including how to mount it up.
