Is it just me or the prices on ebay going crazy? I've seen items going for crazy sums, but never for something I have. By the time the Starr family is done with something it's pretty used up.

Winter time drives ebay crazy. Everyone gets in the mood. In the house with nothing else to do but spend money. It will slow down right around christmas and then pickup in January. When tractor show season comes in it dies again. I guess people buy their needs at shows and swap meets. :D Brandon.

It's one thing when a seller starts the opening bid low....and then the buyers run the price skyhigh.

But this guy is way out there by starting the bid that high. But what will really blow us away is if someone actually BIDS on it  .

If they do, I'm going into the ebay manual business

Some things amaze me... I got the service manual from C&G with special interest in the governor, so I opened it to the theory of operation and found a couple of pages never got copied (not in a row?) so I sent CaseIH an email and they sent me a new one.

I copied the missing pages and posted it on ebay, it went for $34. I felt guilty so I put a check for $5 in with the book...... It cost $28 from the dealer!

Same story with the throttle/ governor quadrant. $18.80 from the dealer and I got over $20 for it.

I hate to see it, but smart folks semi-part out a Cub. Tractor, weights, mower, plow all in separate auctions. The guy I just bought a Cub from got $530 for the snow plow!

I did take a beating on the brake rod clevises though... it really is a strange marketplace out there.

Rudi,
In 2 separate auctions I bought an original Operator Manual for the 130, it cost $8. Not a copy, it's a beauty.
The other was an original Parts Manual for the 130. Not a copy, $12.

Every once in a while you get a deal. I am very happy with both those items.

I really did miss out on the SuperA blade though. Advertised on the YT photo ads. Complete $400. Just got an email this morning the buyer is going from Edmonton to ND to pick it up. To me, that blade is a steal at that price.

Guys:

For a personal collection it is ok I guess... but this price is way too high under any circumstances.. especially since the TC-37F is a relatively new edition. I have bought a number of Ads and Brochures as well as some manuals.. yeah.. I will get around to scanning them and uploading them this winter. I probably have a couple hundred into all of them by now, especially with having to pay duty etc., on a couple of them..

I will never buy anything from Norm Z. again... ever :!:

But I cannot afford the prices of some of the stuff from my regular supplier anymore. 2150IH is driving the prices so high. One brochure went for $83.50US... I can't afford that.. so I have decided that I am backing off on buying these things.

When people out there on eBay start getting their act together again, I may rethink that.. but not until then.

Em would kill me if I spent that kind of money on a brochure.. especially with University costing so much..
