Thanks 400--- I have done it several times but often wondered what damage I could be doing. But when your 1/2 mile from an outlet there wasn't mutch options :)

Sorry, but I just saw this :oops: :oops:

A lipped drill bit is a bit that has been ground (unsharpened so to speak) so it doesn's grab in soft metals like aluminum and copper.

That is clever!

The only problem is that the stud on my starter is so short that I didn't even put the lock washer on it. But I gave up thinking about it when it started the first time..... could come back to haunt me?
