LF-194 Plow on eBay

Postby Don McCombs » Tue Nov 07, 2006 12:45 pm

This plow seems to me to be missing the landside. Am I assessing this correctly? Pay particular attention to the upper right photo.

Don,
I would tend to agree with you. I looked at a photo of my plow (different angle) but you could definitely see the landside if it were there.
This eBay plow has been "gussied up" for sale.

New iron isn't available for these plows, right?

Wonder what McGrew's angle is. Seems like they "get it wrong" an awful lot. This is the second one of theirs that you guys have saved me from!

Matt,
Depends on what plow you have and what you need.
I have the "Plow Chief" LF194. The point and share are still available though not in the different materials that they used to be. I got both from Carter and Gruenewald this summer.

Matt,

I think the only parts that are still available new are the share and point. You may be able to find some good used parts from someone that has an incomplete or damaged plow. Some parts from the 193 may be interchangeable with the 194. Compare the part numbers on the parts lists.

McGrew's descriptions are always short and vague. It's what they don't tell you that you have to be careful of. Cub items on eBay are, for the most part, very carefully watched by knowlegeable prospective buyers. If the end of the auction is near and the price seems too good to be true......it probably is. :D

Did they ever make a Super Chief version?
