generator oiling

Postby Jeff Silvey » Mon Oct 30, 2006 2:03 pm

Had a idea about oiling the generator with the hood on just wanted to know if anyone esle does this way. This problem could take two people. I took a piece of heat shrink 12" long or longer, size 1/4 heated the end just enough to fit into the oil caps on the generator worked great for me :) . Now I'm the only one oiling. Usually don't have anyone home to help :( . Does anyone else have a better idea. :)

Why not just use a straight wire... like maybe cut out of the bottom of a coat hanger. A drop of oil will run down it. Oil through one hole while looking in the other. :D Don't get carried away... too much oil is worse than not enough. :(

I oil my generators only when I have the hoods off for something else.(probably about once a year). The trick with the wire and running a drop or two down it sounds like the answer.
Dave- What are you talking about? We don't know nuthin bout bacco up North except how to smoke or chew it. Are suckers insect pests or us who get hooked on bacco?

A sucker growes between the leaf and the stalk you didn't want any suckers because the took from the weight of the leaf the more weight the more money. the mineral oil would kill the sucker. It would kill the plaint if you put too much.

One of our locla hardware stores sells a 'Zoom Spout" oiler. it is a plastic bottle with a long plastic tube that slides down in the bottle when not in use.

Thanks Dave. Sounds like you "prune off" unwanted growth with mineral oil. I learn something everyday.
