This is getting really catchy lately. Right near me a guy turned over a ford backhoe one of the larger ones.(4x4) talk about a scary sight. I figure he was trying to side hill with it using the front bucket to smooth out the ground on the hill. Sometimes you just need a dozer with the low center of gravity to use on hills.

You Can NEVER BE TOO SAFE Around ANY Equipment :!: :shock: Most Experienced Operators Get Hurt By Pushin' The Envelope...They REALLY KNOW BETTER, But SOMETHING Inside Them Just Says..."You CAN Do It" :!: :cry:

I just got off crutches Friday. I was using our M to move some tree's I had dozed down, hopped down off the back of the M, twisted my ankle on the way down. It's easy to get hurt, even when your sitting still. Brandon.

we had a guy here, got pinned under his restored green tractor, not hurt, as they went to get the police to get him out he suffered a heart attack and died.we also had one about 10 years back, this one was an upset to the comunity, one of the farmers went out on the only non cab tractor on the farm, to check some crops, they hit a bump, the kid maybe 15 was on the fender, fell under the wheel and was killed instantly.now that i'm thinking about a year ago we lost a guy at work, he was helping, not even assigned to this job fixing a traveling sprinkler, 5:00 came and everyone wanted to get home, they had to move it inside, it fell off the jacks and crushed our man.

So what I've learned, if it looks shifty get away, if its falling let it go, and if it sounds like something you shouldn't do, don't.

Just my view.

Also be careful as to how you attach a load to be pulled. The U of NE has a tracotr they use at County fairs etc to show what happens if the load (trailer, implement, etc is attached incorrectly. The force (simple Newtonian physics) flips the tractor backwards. :(

The national timber fallers assoc. has a saying that goes;
Ask yourself; "Is what i'm about to do safe?"

Besafe, think before we act, take an extra minute to think it over.

Either we find ourselves in a hurry and we don't think about what were going to do or it can be late in the day, were tired and were in a hurry to get done and get home.

I just had a friend pick up a rolled bale with a front end loader on his tractor. He lifted to high and the 1000# plus bale rolled back on him. He's not in the best of shape but very lucky to still be alive. Alway leave yourself an out and think what may happen before you act.

How strange. When I got my cub with the property the PO was in a neck brace and just about killed himself when he fell off the moving tractor.
I know better no hills.
