Cub Lo-Boy Dies then Starts Right up Again HELP!

Postby rmolleur » Sat Oct 14, 2006 8:00 am

My '65 Lo-Boy chugs along just fine at any speed the all of a sudden dies. However, it's start right up again - run 3-5 minutes then die again.

This Cub apprentice needs a helping hand.

Thanks!

Take a look inside the gas tank. Chances are that you have something floating around in there that is blocking the outlet as fuel is drawn out. Then when the engine dies, it floats away allowing it to re-start.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Hi RM. When my cubs do the same thing, it's been one of 2 things. Either the tiny vent hole in the gas cap is plugged, or junk is plugging the sediment bowl intake that can be seen with a flashlight looking into the tank.

Sorry BD, didn't see you on board :D

Try removing the fuel line from the carberator and checking that the screen inside the carberator inlet is'nt clogged.
Fixin it is medicine for the mind.
