Jack:

On an earlier thread tnestall had shown how he did it so I copied. Here are the parts:
Image
1 SPOOL 5 GPM EATON CESSNA 30921 OC VALVE is the control valve @ 159.95.
The cylinder:
Image
is a
1X8X0.5 DA HYD CYL and it's 78.95.
I used the block kit:
Image
from TM Tractor's Hydraulic By-Pass Block that was 75.00, these items are plus shipping.

I then went to my local heavy truck supply,we happen to live in an area with alot of gravel mining. I had no idea of what parts to use for the plumbing, but they did, and that was 74.00 plus tax. The brackets I made up from 3/16 steel that I had and the only welding I did was to mount the rear of the cylinder to the frame of the plow.I then mounted everything then measured the hoses and they custom made them for 97.00. I looked at 3 farm stores but no one carried 1/4" hose,or small cylinders. One did have a valve tho, much lower price but since I don't know anything about hydraulics, I went with something I knew would work rather than experiment and wreck my pump or something. So far playing in the drive it works great, almost can't wait for snow, oh yes I can.If anyone needs a parts breakdown on the hose fittings let me know.

Nice job Gary. Too purdy of a cub to plow snow with. Do you think you may eventually elevate the valve to make it easier to reach. Steve

Gary, You will really enjoy that when the snows start. After two winters of use I cannot think of anything I would change on mine. That little Cessna valve just looks right on a Cub. Ted

Thanks Steve.Right now the lever seems to be ok as I moved it back from where Ted's is, as you know there is not much room to work with. I'm working on a before picture now, the only thing I've really done is paint the parts I could remove easily.

Gary:

I sorta helped I hope.. and plugged in the pics you had linked to as well as the url's. Nice job... WOW!

Can you please, pretty please, do a write up and include the relevant pics in an email to me so I can include it on the Cub Manual Server. This is another excellent project and I really would like to see many versions so we all have options. Not only that, but I assume that like me, we all have ideas, but nowhere near the experience to put them together.. so we stumble along. It would be nice to see different projects so we can incorporate our thought patterns with others... and have a project that works.

Thanks for an excellent set of pics. Looks like you had fun :!: :!:

Gary - Does that valve have a power beyond plug installed? In looking at the Prince valves, if you use the PB plug, you will have one return going to the bypass block (hi pressure) and one to the resevoir (low pressure). Just curious. Very nice job in fabricating and plumbing!!

Thanks

Hi RudyO. I plumbed my triple with the PBY set-up, but most guys are not worrying about the added feature and not having any problems, probably because of how the t/c releases pressure so fast.

Thanks for the reply. I've seen several w/o the PBY plug so it must work that way. I'm gonna try to add the hyd angle, etc to mine this winter. I'll probably run disconnects to the back as well.

As sensitive as hydraulic controls are to dirt/ contaminates, etc. I would seriously consider the addtion of a filter in the return line to the TC unit. Especially if you are using quick connects to connect any cylinders to the system. The filter can only be installed in the return oil line to the TC. This requires the use of power beyond capability from the remote valve in order for the TC to properly function. Adding the filter also gives you a little more oil capacity.
