Maybe here's my rig

That wasn't so bad for my first picture posting. I'd like to find a 6ft slide in truck camper and mount on the front of the trailer. I think that would leave enough room to get maybe 2 cubs on with some parts. The dovetail, raises up and creates a level deck. Thanks Brandon.

I just can't bring myself to put an extension on to haul the trailer with my camper on the truck. A friend has nearly the same camper, just without the overhang, hauls a box trailer with a Harley) I am a little concerned about the weight (camper 2000#, empty trailer 1400#, Cub 1500#). But I sure do like the camper. Another thing is that you simply can't see the trailer behind a camper and would never know if the Cub went missing!

Here is the rig on the way to Rudi's with his new C-2 in tow. (Traded him the trailer for a rear rock shaft.... better than a good deal for me)

Guess I gotta figure out (yet again) how to strap the Cub in tonight as its going to Cubfest!

She looks a bit better now than on the ride home from VT:

i pull my cub, C, and H with my 98 chevy z71 truck.
With my dad's truck we can only pull my cub.
We just bought a 16 foot dovetail car hauler trailor.
It's been pretty nice compared to the one that we used to use that had rails and all.

Those slide in truck campers are just right for what I want to do, but they are so heavy, there just too heavy for most trucks. You see big dually's squatted down when they have one in the bed. Not to mention adding trailering weight to the combo, it would be hard on your truck for sure. Brandon.

Brandon,

This might sound silly, but why not look for a wrecked camper trailer to salvage the goodies from, and build yourself something that would make the best use of that overhang above the gooseneck on your trailer?

We had a derelect RV here on this property that we couldn't even give away.

I know there are lots of those sitting on people's properties.....salvage the pump, tanks, fixtures, and A/C unit, and you'd be all set...just build a wooden box to fit your specific shape......

I've seen 6-ft truck campers.....it's akin to trying to live in a kitchen sink....if you turn around to fast, you bump into yourself, and fall over.

My neighbor has an older one behind his garage I'm going to check on. I'm sure it doesn't have air, and it's probably full of that butterscotch colored 70's stuff and woodgrain. I'd like to buy an old one like that, gut it and make it nice inside. New paneling and appliances, and computer hookup. I'd really like a shower in one, and from what I can tell, not alot of the older ones had them. I'll have to get a little bit of an education on RV plumbling, but I think it'd be alot of fun to fix one. New ones are that you'd want to stay in are $15,000+. I wouldn't ever pay that for one.

Tell you what would be neat is to mount a small pop up ontop of the gooseneck similiar to this:
Image

You couldnt' be afriad of heights your bed would be hanging out with nothing under it, and you'd be sleeping 15 foot above the ground. You'd have a good view. Dad would kill me, if he came home and I had some gomb tacked on his trailer like this.

That crosswise pop-up is something I gave a lot of thought to at one time. It only requires about 6' of trailer deck even if it isn't mounted on the goose-neck.

I see nobody's mentioned a Fun Mover. I bought this one intending to haul a Cub inside, but never have. That's where the golf cart rides and a Cub or two rides on either of my trailers.

Image

Even though the Fun Mover is built on a Ford truck it still pulls a loaded trailer well. An earlier M/H that was Chevy powered did a better job, but I couldn't haul the golf cart. :(

Image

Both trailers have been refurbished this year. The lighter one was just finished yesterday with new deck, tires, and paint job.

Image

The light one handles two Cubs just fine but is too narrow for the bigger tractors. The heavy one is 6" wider and has removable fenders so it can haul the M or the dual-wheeled H. Weight isn't a problem for either one.

Image

That H just arrived from about a 500 mile cross country retrieval.

A few yrs ago we had a pop-up camper and I was seriously considering putting it sideways on my trailer. It would have worked had it been 2' shorter in length. Since it didn't fit we sold it.

This is what i use. F350 w/o duals, with a living quarters horse trailer. LQ is real simple, but it has AC, heat, refrig., 12v lights, awning, and a porty potti.

Image

As you can see it works pretty well, and it hauls the mules good too.

Here's our small trailer, It's so easy and safe to load this one. Great for the smaller tractors. Just loaded the 240 to do some bushhogging saturday. This is the tractor I use a woods 60 inch finish mower with to mow my yard. It has power steering and 3 point. Does Well. Brandon.
