grill color

I have seen pictures of Cubs with white expanded metal grills. Is that correct and what should the grill on my '48 be painted. I am assuming red.

Red is correct for all wire mesh grilles.

48 model did it have the fine mesh grill big dog? thought he might want to know this as well. i know its not correct for my 53,but i like the look.

The fine mesh grille was on the early 47's only.
