okay, Cubarama is officially over. EJP has EJ back at home, Donny M is on his way to Texas, Lurker Carl and I exchanged all the Cub Express deliveries, Camo took a thousand pictures for us all to enjoy, and Mary Lou and I will be pulling out for the saltwater (Florida) in the morning. This is of course the best one ever. Hope to see some of ;you this next weekend at Kodiak's, if not then whenever. Hope everyone gets home safely.

This seems like a good place to slip in my two cents worth.

This was my first Cub event and my wife and I had a great time. The best part was meeting the many folks who have helped me along the way with great information and suggestions. You get an image in your mind how you think people look after corresponding with them and it rarely matches how they really look. (OK, in some cases the images are pretty close. )

Anyway, I want to thank everyone we met for making us feel welcome and part of the group.

We look forward to next year. :D

We got home about 8:30 this evening. Long but pleasant drive. Great show!

We got home at 2:30 this afternoon, and were able to drop off a plow that was delivered to Fredericktown from Illinois on Saturday, to it's new owner in Indiana. We too think this was the best Cub-Arama we've been to (all but the first one) and are happy to have met some more forum members and were able to add faces to some names I had seen here.

Rose and I arrived at 2:30 this morning safe and sound. Sure wish I could have stayed long enough to see John's reaction in person...but
Sure enjoyed the short time I was there :!: :!:

Now, if I can only get my laundry done

Paul,

The only Cubarama I've been to was the first one and you weren't there. Anyway I have the feeling we've met somewhere. Can you tell me where? Portland?

I always look forward to meeting other internet acquaintances and adding faces to names. I hope some of the great pictures we have been shown can be fitted with captions for that reason.

George
We met briefly at Portland 3-4 years ago, and then again at Bigdog's 1st Cubfest a couple of years ago. Seems like a there were a couple of devious contestants on a Tri-cycle Cub at that one, that tried to help turn the rear wheels faster while pulling the sled down the track ........ kinda reminded me of the adage that Old age and treachery will overcome youth and skill

i think our host had a hand (literally) in that operation.

But George had Rambo, and took on all comers, with that 154 engine and no hydraulics.

Just wait till you see Pete next year  transmission work and a 154 powerplant 8) no more 9th place for him :D

I think you are right, but I wasn't going to use devious, treachery, old age, and names in the same post

Art,

It would be a mistake to assume that Rambo would remain in the same condition. We've been working.

Maybe later today his hood will go back on... after I finish the carburetor work. (hint: high idle and low idle are 2000 RPM apart!) You'll have to look very closely now to pick him out from the crowd. He has a new paint job and a hydraulic system so he can blend into the (front) of the crowd. :D

Blackie probably won't even bother to show up next time!

Pete won't have a chance!
