carburetor numbers

Postby joemckeich » Sat Sep 30, 2006 11:14 am

I went to NAPA to get a carb repair kit and they said the only way they can look it up is by the numbers on the carburetor tag. I have an IH carb, but it doesn't have any numbers on it. Does anyone know the numbers?

#251 234 R94 or 364 579 R91. If your carburetor is an IH, it is one of these. Same kit for either one.

Joe,

If you're willing to consider a suggestion, I recommend that you go with a genuine Case/IH carb rebuild kit. I think you will be disappointed with anything less. If you don't have a dealer close by, you can get one from http://www.tmtractor.com or http://www.cngco.com.

I am looking for the numbers that are on a small tag on the carb, not the IH part numbers. Can anyone help?

Joe,

My suggestion is to find a different parts man. An IH carburetor has no such tag. Try the balding guy with white hair. :D

The Zenith carbs have a brass tag with the numbers you mention. You will never find these on a IH made carb. You best bet for the IH carb is to forget NAPA and get one from a CASE/IH dealer.
