PTO won't stay engaged

Postby cub100 » Sun Sep 24, 2006 9:38 pm

I have a 1951 Cub and the PTO comes out of gear under load. As soon as any load is applied as in deep grass, the handle moves to the disengaged position. It started doing this rather quickly and I imagine something is worn out. Any ideas?

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Big Dog's answer is better, but just in case....

Do you have the spring and cotter pin on the bottom of the lever?
