Cub Calender

Postby Phillip W. Lenke » Wed Aug 30, 2006 6:47 am

Fellows and gals.
Cub.com calender?
Was looking to see what it would take to get a calender made from several of the members cubs. What I was thinking was to submit a couple photos with cubs in a seasonal background ex. fall harvest Sept -Nov.etc seasonal photos to match the months. What do you think and what kind of interest would there be. How many do you think would sell? All procedeeds could help offset cubfest as well as this forum. Non Profit! I know this would take a group effort, I would be willing to help in any way.
What's the interest. I e-mailed Rudi and he thought this was brought up already. I guess the first thing would be to get a quantity that would move.

Count me in Phil. If all 2500 members would just donate $1  , it would cover all expenses, I'm sure. C'mon all you members, I know you can afford that

That's the key, Phil. From experience, you can offer a great product at a special one time price and only a few will want one. After everyone see's the item, they all would like one :D

As Phil and Rick already know, I am in and I would take 2 !!

I still think this is a great idea. Was it Ron (Kodiak) who brought this up before or AZ Mike? Boy me memory is leaving me fast :!:   :(

Production costs and negatives aside.. how many think this is a good idea.. remember I said negative stuff aside.. be nice to see some of the great Cubs around on a Calendar especially a significant one from US about US and OUR passions...

As Phil said it would be fun to have a poll to decide which pics get included, but I know I would like to see Rick's Backhoe Cub, Harley, George's Tricycle, the Sweetheart Cub from PEI and a few of the other truly unique Cubs in one of the editions. And this should be a multi-year project, NOT a one off job....

I KNOW that this can be done, it is an excellent idea, an exellent fund raiser. I was President of the Navy League for 122 Moncton RCSCC and we used calendar's as fund raisers for years and I think they still do. They bought in major returns for little effort, and these were being sold to people who really didn't want a calendar showing leaves etc., but bought them because they were for the Cadet's and they wanted to help.

The difference here is that we LIKE our Cubs and many of us would WANT a calendar... so BIG no HUGE difference...

Stand up and be counted. Let's make this the longest thread in FC History :!: :!: :!:

I think it's a great idea. Count me in. I do some print design too from time to time if I could be of any help.

I guess I need to get busy restoring my little draft pony to make her worthy of the calendar.

I know I have looked for a Cub calender and never found one.
I will look on a few calender maker sites today and see what I find for cost and quality.
As I said I will be willing to help in any way, but I think we need a Special, go to guy with all the info. Any one willing to pony up to take the shoulders for this one.
I will be right along side.

CUB CADET has made thier own calendar for 2007. This is a 14 month (Nov 2006-Dec 2007) and has both old and new machines on it. It is Cub-less, but that may change next year. 8) We have some of these at C&G and sold a few on epay too!

To have a succesful calendar project with good color photos you need to look into printing 1000 copies MINIMUM.......

Ken,

Does C & G print their own promotional calendar each year? The CaseIH dealer back in Delaware (Hoober) puts out a very nice one showing new and vintage International tractors still working on local farms. I hope I can stay on their mailing list. :)

I drove over to the local graphics shop nearby and they are getting a ballpark price together for a calender. It will have a small caption under each photo with the year of Cub and the owners name. Also at the back will be a list of important Cubfest and Cubarama events listed with dates. They said they'll figure up a price starting at 500 calenders and then 1000 and 1500. They also said a digital pic of 300dpi or more is required to give a sharp clear picture, so sending over the internet and copied to cd should work ok. I'll let everyone know as soon as they contact me in the next couple days.

Maybe a few others can do the same so we can get some comparisons on prices.
