Farmalls on a train picture

Postby kinelbor » Tue Aug 29, 2006 8:21 pm

My mom found this picture in a local magazine. I thought it was pretty interesting how tightly they could pack the tractors on those railcars. I dont see any cubs, I dont think many were brought this far north. Mainly just H's and M's here.

Now that's really interesting! The tractors in the foreground look like Super C's to me, with wide front end's. Notice how the tie rods are disconnected and the front wheels turned at odd angles. What does the caption below the picture say?

The caption says, "One of the endless string of freight trains that helped to open the great northern county known as Aroostook."

That is awesome Nik!

Thanks!

I know there are a lot of red ones up your way... they seem to be the most common ones in NB and down my way too.

Rudi, Woodstock is pretty close to here. Where did you cut down from Quebec? Did you go through Fort Kent? If you did you practically drove by my house. You could have picked up the Karry-All while it was still hot!

Hey NIK...That's a really neat photo page! :D

The railroad would have been the Bangor & Aroostock Railroad, and more than likely these Farmalls were headed up to be sold to the Aroostock potatoe farmers
