The easy answer is both... 1150B Blue or 2150 Red are the appropriate colours. Getting the info is also pretty simple. Just read below, then go to the Paint, Decals and Other Finish ?'s link on the server, and there it is under the Paint Chart and the Paint Committee Decisions. All you want to know and more

I would also recommend that you visit Binder Books and purchase the three most important manuals you can own for Maintenance, Repair and Rebuilding your Cub. These are the Owner's Manual, the GSS-1411 Service Manual and the TC-37F Parts Manual. Although they are available on the Cub Manual Server, it is better is you also have your own paper copy. Binder Books is the only Authorized IH Publication Reprint House and they have the best quality manuals available. Most other's are not of the same quality. Just a personal thought here, the I&T Shop Manuals, although helpful in some areas, really are not sufficient for the job. If you wish though, they are good additional reference works.

IF you really want to get the skinny on all things Cub, might I suggest you get a copy of Ken Updike's Farmall Cub and Cub Cadet's . While you are at it Original Farmall Cub and Cub Cadet is Ken's latest addition to the series. Along with Guy Fay's Letter Series Originality Guide, these are three must have's in anyone's collection.

In addition to the above information, don't forget to check out the various articles that are available to help with your Repair, Restore, Rebuild or just your Maintenance Projects. Red, blue or black depending on the implement or area of the implement. I really am partial to the blue myself. They're your implements paint them your favorite colour. ( I just love the proper spelling of that word)

Welcome to the best site on the net for tractors. The information Rudi passed along is invaluable. Lots to read, but the answer is there. The mower and plow are blue, the cultivator is three colors the tool arms are red, legs are blue, and shoes are black. George has an excellent picture of this, ifn he happens to see this post, i am sure he post his picture. John

The mower was blue, except for the swath board and pitman. In '48 they were probably ochre. Would need to check the ochre parts.

Cultivator was multiple colors, depending on what you are including as part of it. If you have Touch-Control, you would need a rear rockshaft. It and the front universal mounting frames were red. The main tool bars, both front and back, were blue. The rear pessure rods and springs might have been blue (that early), otherwise were red. Standards, spring trips, spring teeth etc. were black. Shields were blue. Sweeps, shovels etc. were varnished.
