Cubfest Northeast Events

Here is what we have planned so far.

1. Tear down, clean and service a generator.
2. Rebuild a magneto. ( BD will appreciate this part. I have had his
mag since the minifest last October.
4. Remove and rebuild a carburator.
3. Remove and check out noisy transmission.
4 Fix anything that anyone has to have fixed that they bring.

The above is not written in stone but it seems from posts that these are the main items discussed. Remember this is a fun event and if we don't get this all done no big deal. Or is someone has anything more pressing we just change things.

But most of all we will get a chance to meet and greet all of our friends here on the board.

Cecil:

I hope to be there on the Saturday of the three days and looking forward to learning a lot and meeting all the great people of this forum. I just acquired my first Cub and know very little about these old gems.

In addition, I am debating taking my family with me ( 5, 3 and 7 month old and of course my wife) as I know many of you have done so in the past. My concern is what do they do there? I have never been to an event of this sort and have no idea what to expect. My wife is NOT into tractors but has not dismissed the idea of going for a day.

I put another post in about what Pris is trying to plan for our better halves. However there are normally quite a few females at these events and they seem to have a great time conversing. There are plenty of orchards and vegetable farms in the area as well as great shopping. What are her interests?

Orchard! Yep Cecil, the orchard near your place is without a doubt the finest orchard I have ever seen! I figured it was a state experimental orchard it was so nice.

I would think even the tiniest youn'ens would have a great time.

Sounds like you got a good batch of stuff to do. Some of sounds a bit ambitous , but then again I am used to doing stuff by myself. I think Don is planning on attending (??) possibly we could use his jig to flatten out a carb or two. From what I have seen they are all warped a bit.

Hey.... I got an idea. Soon I need to 'adjust' the carb and governor. Sounds like something pretty much everyone should do (but never does).

Pretty non-destructive, hood stays on and just seems like a good idea.

Film at 11 on how I make out with it. My potential excuse is that I dont have a tach.

OK lets put out the word that we need someone to bring a tach if they have one. If not it might be time for me to get one like GW had at Cubfest in June. It worked off the PTO. That sounds like a good project.
Anyone else have anything?

Larry & Cecil,

I plan to be there and will certainly bring my carb straightening jig. :D If anyone knows now that they want one straightened, I suggest giving it a thorough cleaning before Cubfest.

Yes, whatever Cubs are here will be lined up against the fence. Bring your belly mowers, sickle bar mowers and any other implement you want to show off.
I will post a seperate post in regards to Don's carburator tool.

I'm alittle late for this reply, however better late then never huh? Souc10 my mom didn't want to go to cubfest this year as well (well wife\mom same same) but she did go and had a great time, the people are super nice, and as for the kids, whats cooler to look at or play with then tractors? I'm sure you will have a great time, and learn alot to. Wish I could make it but I'm away at school right now so my options are limited right now.

Take care,
Colin

Scotty, the plowing depends on the corn field behind the house being picked. I hope so. As far as bringing the Cadet, of course you are allowed.

Cecil:

The Generator workshop is one I definitely want to see. I sure hope somebody will be bringing a digital movie camera.... Em is going to bring our Digital.. but it is a still.. so.. kinda limited.

Ellie and Granny both need Genny checkups.. so this will be an interesting workshop for me.

If there is anyplace I can help in the Carb or Tranny workshop.. let me know..
