I'm in the teardown stage of a carb rebuild. Is there any secret to removing the fuel inlet screen without damaging anything else in the process? It is really deep in there. Is there a retainer in there or is that the seat for the fuel line fitting?
Thanks

I have not seen that the removal is necessary. Many carburetors are missing the screen due to previous "repairs". With compressed air, the screen can be blown clean from both sides while in place. No large debris should be on the needle side of the screen since all debris at that point had to pass through the screen to get there.

The screen is simply wedged in. If you don't have a set of dental picks (Harbor Freight) you can gently push the screen out from the back side with a piece of wire with tape on the end to avoid scratching/denting the screen.
