Bushing brake pin

Postby Bob Underwood » Tue Aug 01, 2006 3:08 pm

The casting is worn quite a lot where the pin fits. The parts book lists a bushing for Ser. 173601 and up do you make your own for the older tractors?
Thanks Bob

So far as I know, there was no bushing used in the earlier serial number tractors, the pin just inserted into the casting and provided an anchor point. it wasn't intended to move in operation. If yours has the toggel brakes rather than ones wiht the straight pull bands, it has been upgraded and you should be able to use the bushing.

serial 173601 is when the new bands were incorporated, so yours has apparently been retrofitted, or else your serial plate (fornt casting) has been chnanged. to get correct dates, you may wnat to check casting codes.
