Rudi, I have an IHC C-2 with this cover. The two posts on the bottom fit into two holes in the crossbar of the mounting frame. Mine has a little tab off of the top front that mounts to one of the holes on top of the tranny, above the PTO.

Rudi,

It also looks a lot like my C-3. They may have been the same.

Denny, Unless I am wrong, the C-3 pulley guard has an angled bottom, and a triangular shaped notch on the top of it. I bought one my mistake, but found the correct one before modifying it.

Get it Rudi!.... but you are still going to need the 'hitch'. Also, not fully sure how much of a difference it makes, but keep your eyes open for the larger idler pulleys too.

Here is me putting the LAST part on Rufus (second to last, cause I still haven't put the flasher bracket on yet).

rjmac,

You're right about the cover. I haven't seen mine for about 10-12 years, but I know it's here somewhere.

Larry:

I got outbid.... I should have bid higher.. but the Duty would have killed me... I have to see if I can get a aftermarket one or a custom made one. There might be a way to pick one up stateside this summer... :?: :?:   :?: :?: and if so.. I am going to want maybe the bracket and the mower guard ifn I can find em......

This is two auctions that I missed... the other was for an IH 6v horn.... I played that wait until the end part of the auction.. and then just as I was on the final step to enter my bid.. we got hit with a power outage... ohhhh tick me off....... and this time.. I didn't wait.. I started bidding about 3 hours before end of auction... with a 15 max.. so I wouldnt get hit too bad by duty.. then had to go as Monarch was here.... then things got busy.. and I didn't get back to check.. poof outbid .. ooohhhh tick me off...

Well, that is part of the game. Ifn we got everything the first time around it wouldn't be any fun now would it  :?: :!:

I know what it's like Rudi.... but if it makes you feel any better I pulled the cover off when I changed the belt and one of the onlookers said to leave it off until I am sure that the new belt cured the problem of the belt flying off. The belt was coming off after about an hour of running hard. Still not sure it may not be the smaller pulleys (alignment with the PTO) but the belt was pretty well worn, so I will give that a try.

More important is that bracket or a way to mount the idler pulleys. Without the original bracket the shield may be tough to fit anyway, it only rests in two holes in the bracket.

Also, on the red one I will probably mount the lift bracket you gave me and it won't fit if I have the PTO shield on.

Larry:

I will just keep waiting. The mower is the next item on the redo list.. I finally got the disc harrow working pretty good and the gardens are starting to look nice.

I am wondering why the rockshaft won't fit with the guard on???? Must have something to do with the alignment???? Be curious to see..

keep us posted on that..

Jim:

Thanks.. snagged the pics. Got a question or two...

1. What is the radius of the top?
2. What are the measurements of the top clip? The degree of the bend and placement of the mounting hole?
3. What are the measurements of the other two clips?

I guess if I had the correct mounting bracket it would be okay... but I am going to have to make one, or hopefully find one in Maine or real close so I can convince my Better Half that a weekend trip is a good idea :!:      8) 8)

Thanks again.. I appreciate the measurements.. :D

5 1/4 inch

Once you make the shield make a clip is such a fashion that it will reach a bolt hole on the trans. housing.

The other 2 clips need to be welded on the shield to fit your holes in your mower. Length just enough to not jump out.
