I've noticed the last couple of times I've mowed that some fluid is leaking around the gear shifter. It's not leaking around the transmission cover plate - just coming out around the shifter itself. What would cause this? (I'm using 85W-90 gear oil, emptied and serviced to 3.5 pints).
We replaced the driveshaft at the WRC. I remember that the one we installed was pretty close to being straight and true, but had a small amount of wobble to it. Could this be starting to cause a problem? I don't notice any abnormal vibration or noise.
Is this leak common? Any ideas?
Thanks,
Brian C

I believe George Willer adds an "O" ring or two when he rebuilds a shifter to help alleviate this problem. Check out his repair procedure on Rudi's site.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.
