Wiring Cub

Postby Steve Hales » Sun May 14, 2006 8:26 am

I am starting the wiring on my Cub, a 1947 ser.# 9778. I have received a wiring harness but it is wrong. I need a schematic of the 1947 Cub wiring. I looked in the operators manual's schematic , which is good but my operators manual is not for the early Cub's. I have a magneto , 6 volt, with regulator no junction blocks. Seems like the wiring harness's they sell are all different. I can wire it myself if I had the right schematic. I have most of the old wiring which I saved. unfortunately someone had removed it. It is not in good shape. Any Ideas?

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Heres some more stuff. I just completed wiring mine yesterday but it has a distributor. I need to ask a question about mine also. You may have to copy and paste the link to see the schematic.

The final version of the Operator's Manual may have about the best diagrams I have seen. Not sure how good for one with a mag, but could be worth the cost of the manual (about $20).

Rudi has mine in the queue for scanning, I kinda dumped it on him.... but he may get it scanned and posted soon.

Steve. Just came across this thread. I took some info pictures when I re-wired my '48. It has a mag, so they may be useful for you. First, I'll post the schematic I copied and re-did for my own use. It works well for me. I will post some additional pics after this post, as I will never remember the link address ......... :)

This pic is slightly different than Merlin's. But, like I said, it works fine for me with the mag .........
