i just received my copy of letter series and i have found it to be a very
interesting read i was upset to find that it does not cover my cub
mine is to new ('62 model)
so i am still looking for correct decal placement and what decals came on mine
i was also suprised to find a mistake in picture on page 114 the decal on the hood of the tractor says diesel but it is a gas burner at least i have not seen a diesel engine with spark plug wires and the caption is about
spark plug wires and distributers
but none the less it is worth the money for the history and photos of
tractors i have only heard of

If you get the "Number Series" book, you will find that it stops at '58, still short of yours. Ken Updikes yellow covered book has a lot of pictures that hit the age range of yours and has decal placement diagrams for the very last models. But I don't think diagrams for the '58 up range have been published.
By the way, the tractor on page 114 of "Letter Series" is a Diesel. It starts on gasoline and switches over after warm-up. Thus the need for a carburetor and ignition system.

Jim,
Is there anything you don't know about these tractors . You never cease to amaze me. Glad you're here for us to pick your brain. If I learn half what you've forgotten, I'll consider myself fortunate .
