PTO Shaft Problems

I have put 3 PTO shafts in my tractor and this one keeps working its way out every time I use it. I noticed on the one I took out it had grooves in it for the lock ring. This PTO shaft don't. So How do I keep this one from working its way out all the time. It says in my book there were ones made with the groove and with out the groove. Should I take it and have a groove milled in it???? Here are the two Shafts I have and out of the three only one had the groove in it. It is on the right in the picture...

You can have a groove machined into your replacement shaft or do as Brian said and stake your bearing on.

I've never had this problem before. I'll see about the machine deal or I'll stake it on. Staking is creating a ridge in metal to prevent it from isn't it. Like using a chissel. Just checking.

Use a center punch.
