Well i thought i better get the pole barn swept for the upcoming DOC-fest. So i backed out basket case. Stainless started right up :D :D :D :D , and then came the 68, which aint started since fall.

I had picked up tune up kit, plugs, points, condensor, wires, cap, rotor. And planned to get it started or pull whats left of my hair out today. Will i put the plugs in, and barely pushed on the starter and it turned over and ran like a dream. 8) :D 8) :D 8) . Wasnt looking forward to doing the point thing as never done one. So that can wait. Backed her out, and let her run.

So i cleaned the shop fairly good. Made room for the demo as she comes home this week (rear end, trans, engine). Got everything done, it was time to back everything back in.

68, and basket case and i went for a cruise, and then i parked em. went to get stainless, and nothing, again :? :? :? :? . enough gas in the tank, bulb full, anyway, just pushed her back in and will have to take a look later. ifn it aint one thing its another.

John,
Just because you can see fuel in the strainer bowl doesn't mean it's full of fuel. The fuel drops into the bowl and gets "pushed" to the carb. You may what to check the level in the tank.

John, The points are real easy to do the hard part for me is getting them set, my fingers get in the way.

Won't start

Postby allenlook » Sun Mar 26, 2006 3:56 pm

Twice when my Cub has refused to start (and once recently with the Super A) it was embarassingly as simple as checking and re-seating the cables on the battery or the ground cable to the frame.

I of course spent an hour checking everything else  :?

well i dumped in 5 gallons of fresh gas. nothing. whole tractor would shake trying to start, but nothing, then ran out of time. so slapped charger on it (didn't think would hurt after cranking on it for 10 min) will get back to it.

Big Dog here is list  of tenative projects for DOCFEST. Hope someone knows how to do em.  Not in any specific order.

1. 2 zenith carbs to rebuild (have kits) :?
2. General tune up, to include points on the 68.(parts on hand) :?
3. Get the PTO to stay engaged on "Basketcase", got all parts on hand that GW told me i would need. :?
4. Install cycle mower on basket case, and balance(?). (looking to order pitman and belt this week) :?
5. Remove woods 59 off stainful (less) and install 54a mid mount(if possible) :?
6. Get stainless running, (i think she'll fire right up when i go back out later, its that love hate she has with me.) :x
7. Ifn time permits, we might even do a little on the demo. :D
8. And do anydemonstrations that anybody has, and other sick cub repairs as needed. :D
9. Looking to be a full morning of cub activities. then food, and an educational experience @ the museum.

Well, the tune up is no problem, the pto is an easy fix if you have the parts. I will bring my woodruff key pack for the govenor. I think most of those things can be fixed.
Now what do i need done?????
I may have to go to Wisconsin for 1 days work. It takes a day to get there, and a day to get home. Now if they schedule the work for next Tuesday, everything will be fine, but if they schedule it for Thursday, then I can't leave here for DocFest on Friday afternoon as soon as I want to so that could make a difference if I get there or not. I'm hoping for the best.

John: It's not a hammer mill, it's a husker shredder. I put a pic on the photo host. Take a look and then you will know who we are when we get there. How about a contest for best demonstration? Biggest truck and trailer? Most unique camping outfit? Farthest traveled? Nicest tractor? Maybe just best sense of humor!!!
