For those of you that don't know, that's my girl. I'm so computer illiterate, Rudi had to post my pictures. She doesn't run yet, but soon! Still tying up a few other loose ends. I'll keep you posted.

One of my suggestions would be to grind the welds where that extra extension is and return the plow to specs. I have a feeling that in deep snow, that extension would probably cause the Cub to bog... unless it was in top shape.. even then.... doubtful.

Then if need be, a more comely setup can be fabbed to increase face area if needed, but I personally don't think that large an area is required to plow effectively. In fact, less is better, specially if you can plow in 3rd gear like I have been able to this year...

NOW that is a blast :!:   8) 8) 8) 8)

Hey Rudi,
I am going to cut the plow down. I won't use the cub to plow snow. I want to make the blade better for dirt. My driveway is about 800' long. I do it with a military styled pickup truck. If I get a chance I'll send pics of the implements I have for her.

Bob:

Good idea. But remember there is an IH snow extension currently on the blade as well. Don't cut that up..... You should be able to see the bolts.. soak em with Kroil (Yes Country...... it is the best for that job from what I have experienced... and I likes the aroma too :!: 8) :D ), and then go to them with an air impact wrench. Worked for me -- my blade had been sitting in a rust pile on a pallet for almost 40 years. I ran it through my Electrolysis Tank and then Kroiled it... pretty easy after that..

Be lookin forward to the other pics...

Johnny,
I restored my '83 chevy pickup to look like a cucv. Couldn't find one in this area in good shape. Plus, the gas engine works better for me.

The hight of the blade does not mean so much as you are only going to be able to push so much. Its a bigger problem not having enough. I used my blade this year without the extension and when I pushed into the pile the snow would come over the blade and hold me aginst the pile. Not having chains only agravated the problem. I would not think you would need more than the stock extension for snow. For dirt I would not use a extension as it is easier to see what you are doing and can tell how much dirt is on the blade.

I agree with Cowboy- height isn't going to make much difference in overloading, but it will keep you from getting stuck if you're pushing up banks.

By the way- that's some seat!
