Now I need A Supplier
Besides a Case/IH dealer, does anyone know where to get Cub Governor Thrust Bearings? I have a couple I need bearings for. The parts number book says it is in group 12, page 18, item #23, part #43 481 D. I have a few of the keepers (on each side of the bearing), but no bearings. Don't scold me for not checking with my dealer first. That's a last resort for me. Thanks.

Merlin, I note that no one is jumping in on your question. I tried to find the little bearing a couple of years back and could not find it at the bearing houses. I reckon it was an IH specialty item. I had to get mine at IH. I have been watching your post every day to see if someone may have found one. I need one also but haven't ordered it yet. Better bite the bullet and open the wallet and get it from IH. As I seem to remember, the cost wasn't too bad back then. Who knows now, as everyone blames the cost increases to the price of fuel.
Best of luck, Bill

Not sure about those bearings, BUT I have found parts, especially bearings, to be quite reasonable from C & G. The one time I got bearings from NAPA they were more money and two of the 'same' ones were from different manufacturers and of apparently different quality.
I was very dissapointed with Kaman when I replaced a bunch of bearings on my snowmobile. Even when I was very specific about what I wanted they sent something different. I did get the right ones airfreighted from the manufacturers warehouse after I complained. (they were free.... and the wrong ones will fit the PTO, but I didnt know that till I ordered them from C&G)
TM (a site sponsor) also has a good stock of bearings, not sure about the governor though..
Just my 2 cents.
