C2 on a Loboy w/fast hitch
Does anyone have pictures of a Danco C2 mounted on a loboy with a fast hitch? Or a clearer picture than the one in the files, of page 4 of the C2 manual? I tried searching, but couldn't find what I need to see. Also, I have the correct mule drive and drive sheave, but no lifting bracket. In the manual, it looks like two pieces of flat bar that make an angle to each other, one bolted to the TC lift arm, the other bolted to an implement bolt hole. Can I get away with making my own out of flat bar? Thanks in advance!

Re: C2 on a Loboy w/fast hitch
Thanks Tim. The mower deck has the split chain, and there’s two holes on the deck to mount them. I’m thinking maybe I should move it to the rear set for less of an angle on the chain. The manual shows a two piece lift arm that bolts to the rock shaft and implement holes. Can I get away with the arm I used when I had this deck on my standard Cub? Also, I’m using the tapered spline pulley on the pto. I can only get it about halfway on before I run into the fast hitch brackets. Is that just how it is, or do I have the wrong pulley?

I made a slight modification to the left bracket to allow the sheave to go on to the pto shaft. JMHO Stan

Re: C2 on a Loboy w/fast hitch
I took my mower off my loboy with FH.
Everything was very crowded as you are finding. Also The mower would be down when the FH was down which would get in the way with some of my FH implements like a grader box. The mower deck was doing more work at grading than the box.

Thanks Stan. Did you just grind away some of the bracket, or what? Also, do you know what belt size this setup takes?

Re: C2 on a Loboy w/fast hitch
I used a metal cutting blade on a small angle grinder to make the modification. The belt is a B142. Note that my setup is a modified BUSH HOG 412 Mower and the mule drive is from a Pennington mower. This might make the belt size different for your mower. A length of rope like 1/2 sash cord makes a good tool to wrap around the sheaves to determine the approximate length. If you raise the idlers to their highest (shortest) position and take a measurement you should be very close to the correct length. Stan

Re: C2 on a Loboy w/fast hitch
So what are we missing here? The manual says nothing about having to modify the rear rock shaft bracket on the fast hitch for installing the drive pulley. I see Stan had trouble when he used a smaller pulley with his setup, so that’s not the answer. I wish the manual in the files had clearer pictures for me to study. Also, even though the manual has instructions for installing on a Loboy with or without fast hitch, they don’t actually show the fast hitch in any pictures. I’m also having a slight issue with the hitch bail hitting one of the sheaves on the mule drive. I know sliding the bail over is an easy fix (if mine slid…need to work on that), but you’d think it would say that in the manual, no? Would still love to see pictures if anyone is running a C2 on a loboy with a fast hitch. Thanks!

Re: C2 on a Loboy w/fast hitch
Personally, I do not think every combination of mower and FH was perfectly worked out for the Loboy.
I looked at Messicks online pages https://www.messicks.com/cas/145266 is is not clear to me the c-2 was meant for a belly mount with a fast hitch. there was a FH remount mower

Re: C2 on a Loboy w/fast hitch
Pg. 4 of the C2 manual clearly says for Loboy with or without fast hitch, and has it belly mounted in the pictures. I guess if all else fails, I can just remove the fast hitch.

Re: C2 on a Loboy w/fast hitch
I have a 50s loboy. I got it with a fh and a wood 59 deck.
As i mentioned I always felt that one interfered with the other and ended up removing the deck.
I do have a c2 for a loboy. I do not have it installed. I really like the one I have on a standard cub.
The woods 42 I like a little better just because the clutch makes less noise. Both cut great.

Re: C2 on a Loboy w/fast hitch
Did it possibly use a chain driven mule drive set-up like the Woods 42 with the regular F Cub?

Dale, no the c2 loboy mule gear does not look like that.
