Thanks for adding me!
I am getting grandpa's Cub running again. Serial number in the 53xxx range (if I remember correctly), with a J4 magneto. I've been watching YouTube, reading here, and purchased a book. I know to watch oil pressure when an engine starts. I'm close to starting it for the first time in a few years. I've heard the oil pumps can lose their prime. What is my procedure for avoiding that? I will be changing the oil anyway but have not yet.
I may not have access to all the maintenance stuff/links available here because I'm so new, so apologies if that is the case-I'm sure this topic is on here somewhere. I also didn't see a way to search posts. Site usage tips are welcome if that's where I'm falling flat. Thank you!

Check the bottom of the page on your post and you will see a list of similar topics. Just click on each one and you should see several good responses. I believe using the hole inside the oil filter housing is the easiest method.

Hi,
You can search for posts that have been made at the top of the page, to the right of the Farmall Cub.

So far, Paul and Ringo have arrived. John and George were supposed to follow ages ago, but apparently have gone awol. Long story. - Circle of Safety: Y

Now that you have 2 posts, you should have access to the manuals under quick links at the top of the page, as well.
