Spark plug wires

Postby Silentrunning » Mon May 08, 2023 1:43 pm

I have been to all the local parts stores and none have a set of plug wire for my 1950 Cub. All the kits they have show the straight plug clip instead of of the 90 degrees ones required for clearing the gas tank. Does anyone know where I can purchase the wires or get a kit with the proper ends?

TM Tractor has them. They are a sponsor of this forum. Their website link is at the bottom of this page.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Use pure copper core or stainless steel core spark plug wires…..Cheap knock off plug wires are aluminum and over time break down and you’ll be trying to figure out where the mis-firing is occurring. Don’t ask how I know…..

and no carbon core wires (sometimes called RFI Suppression wires). Carbon core wires have higher resistance than solid core wires and unless you have a radio mounted on the tractor there's no advantage to using them.

The internet is full of places to buy them. But if your walking into a store I wouldn't go to Advance or AutoZone first. An old school type Napa or Car quest and even O'Rileys will have something or can order it. The key is usually getting a person that knows yes they can get tractor parts at an auto parts place and then find someone who ow a days knows how to use the computer to find said part numbers.
