I've returned after a hiatus of 10 years or so. Need info on adjustment of the feed mechanism on the McCormick Deering 100 spreader? Not much info on the manual? Seems like only a couple springs to make adjustments?

Welcome back. The 100 spreader manuals are located in the Quick links folder at the upper left corner of this page. Look for pdf manuals then Farmall Cubs then attachments then spreader. There are 2 manuals a 1948 and a 1950. These are accessible after you have made 2 posts.

Re: Old member new post stumped on McCormick 100 spreader
The gear at the right back has two pawls with springs (12 and 6 by the clock). If a spring is broken, or the tip of the pawl is worn down, it won't catch on the gear tooth and the apron chain won't move. The right chain guard may need to be removed to see the upper pawl and spring. You might also try moving the engagement lever past (below) the last notch to see if that helps. There are a few other places that wear, but are more uncommon. I got your PM, but saw this post first. Not sure where you are applying the pipe wrench to get movement...

Thanks Bob!
If I put the wrench on the rear sproket axle or the sprokets I can move the apron easily.
