Sorry if this is the wrong section in the forums.
I'm restoring my loboy this winter and was wondering about colors. I'm trying to keep it original but with some updates. For example original headlights but with leds. Anyway i was wondering if anyone has seen a cub without the standard colors. I really like the harvester red but I would like a more unique look. Obviously not green lol. Any pics or ideas would be appreciated. I want to know what your take on it is. Thanks

Re: 1961 loboy color
I've seen pink, purple, green, black, etc!! It's your cub...paint it whatever strikes your fancy! I've considered doing a two-tone purple/lavender...but every time it comes to it I chicken out. The only scheme I would avoid is green/yellow
...both groups would give you grief!!!

Re: 1961 loboy color
My first idea was matte black with red accent such as wires and other under the hood components. Only issue i really saw was that would be one hot tractor in the summer. And I'm talking temp wise lol. I recently saw an image from a cubfest? Of someone doing a pull with a gray cub. I really liked the look but i don't think i would be happy with the final result. And yes i agree with your point of it's mine haha. And green and yellow makes me feel nauseous. Unfortunately that is the go to tractor for everyone around me. I almost get excited when i see a mahindra.

Rick Dulas (drspiff) bought a blue and white Cub Loboy in Idaho back in 2007. Quite the adventure starting in Texas where he lived.

Re: 1961 loboy color
I bet that looks pretty nice. Kind of similar to the older ford tractors or more like a new holland?

Re: 1961 loboy color
I just saw a pic of it and the matching 184. Looks pretty nice but not really my cup of tea. I'll just keep thinking since it's going to be a while before she gets painted. I'll mess around with some mock ups on photoshop. Thanks for the input!

I was thinking that Rick’s Tractor was a two tone blue. If it’s the same one I was looking at then in Idaho. From an air rescue service hanger.

The aforementioned "Blue Boy" prior to drspiff (Rick Dulas) taking ownership.

Re: 1961 loboy color
Peter, Thanks for the pictures of Rick’s Cub Loboy. It’s been a long time ago. My old memory isn’t quite as good as it once was. Have a great day!
P.S. Sorry for the late response. Been driving all day. Michigan to Nebraska!
