I am pretty sure if all it Is is activated charcoal it won't harm a thing as long as it doesn't make it's way into the tank and plug anything up.

I have used Stabil 360 Marine in my fuel for many years. I put it in each gas can before I fill the can. Have been quite pleased with the results.

I do the same, except I use the regular Stabil (just because I always have). Sometimes it seems pointless to add Stabil to the can in the middle of summer when I'm liable to use it in a few weeks. But it seems that I never know when I'll add gas to a tractor then end up not using it the rest of the year.

I use recreational fuel exclusively in all power equipment and old tractors. I also add a Motorkote product called Fuel Optimizer, which is engineered to protect fuel as a stabilizer, among other fuel-related virtues (1 oz per 10 gal). Before this practice, I did have trouble storing ethanol fuels over time and I don't want the goo anymore in carbs, tanks, etc. Completely satisfied with this product over many years of use. Zero issues.

Yea I use non ethanol fuel in boats , 2 strokes and ATVs and the tractor. I don't have issues with this fuel. At the end of a season I'll add seafoam or stabil. Also do the same in my generators.

The 91 octane in rec fuel is music to my ears when the chainsaws sing. Stihl recommends premium fuels, so why bother with ethanol blends when they jack up the price so much for the higher octane levels?

Rec fuel is still at $4/gallon here, but the ethanol blends are not far behind in cost today. Makes sense to me as insurance that things will work when I need them. Saves me from inventing new swear words, too.

I have found that it really does not matter (here at least) what you use for fuel. I have several boats,saws,lawnmowers,motorcycles and the 3 tractors. Here in the far northwest Chicago suburbs we cannot get rec fuel.Closest station is in Wisconsin 30+ miles away. Treat everything with stabil and have at it.Been doing it for years. The other choice would be sailboats,reel push mowers,bicycles,and horses. Not going to happen

Stihl actually only recommends 89 octane unless they have changed that. But 87 has more power in it cause it combusts easier. When your turning 13,000 RPMs in a 2 stroke you really don't have to worry about detonation. I run 87 non ethanol in all my Stihl saws including my 84cc saw that I will run a 32" bar and have never had an issue. The higher that octane is the less combustible it is. I'm not recommending anyone else do it cause like I said the manuals say 89 (unless they have changed it in the last 10 years or so to a higher octane).

I guess I'm lucky cause my non E 87 fuel is only around $3/gallon.

It does matter, but it also matters how much you use them. For instance I have generators I might only use every other year. I do run these carbs dry though. I have half a dozen chain saws that some are only used a few months a year if at all that year. Boats that sit for 7 months a year. If I ran my mower all the time, ran it dry, used my saws weekly boats monthly etc I probably wouldn't have an issue with e fuel either. But the fact is that I did when I wanst as particular. It's about what works for an individual. I am glad you haven't had any issue with e fuels. There are a lot of us that have. I have no ties to the fuel industry or additives etc so what I say doesn't help me in one bit just trying to help others. I literally have dozens of gasoline engines in everything from weed eaters, saws, outboards, vehicles, lawnmowers, tractor, generators. I can't run and drain them all frequent enough to not worry or have issues if I ran e fuel.

I use the cheapest (may contain up to 10% ethanol) in my cub!

Ocasionaly I might dump in some seafoam.

It is a gas guzzler and is always getting fresh fuel. I never fill it up, just put 2 to 3 gallons in as needed.

My chainsaws get ethanol free premium gas now. The last batch which it around 3 years old now and still works fine.

But I keep my saws in the basement. If that makes any difference.

I heard where the ethanol hardenes the fuel lines on the saws and eventually they crack!

No one is lucky with $3 / gallon gas......

We would be lucky if it got back to $1.88 like it was in the fall of 2020 here
