Rosie and I made a grueling 12 hour round trip to Michigan to pick up our new addition. I say grueling because it should have been ten hours, but since I had been sick since Monday morning we found it safe to stop at EVERY rest stop along the way, but enough about that.

This is a nice one to look at, but it will require more work than the seller and I expected. David is a great guy and I am glad to have had the chance to meet him. The only bad thing is, he seems to believe a lot of what you guys say about me. He was treating me more like royalty. It took me awhile to get him to believe I put my pants on like anybody else, one leg at a time (however, getting those legs in takes four times longer now days. We found a few issues that David never realized were issues at first, but we were able to overcome that. By the way, When I mentioned the hood decal should have said "McCormick-Deering" he pointed to his wife and said her maiden name was McCormick and she didn't want to share top billing. Smart man.

I'll post a few photos of it tonight and tomorrow I will show some of the issues when I get the pix. Like I said David was great to work with, I just wish he would have sold me the other Cub as well since I had enough room to haul four of them. Anyway, I need to make room in BOB since this is to nice looking to site outside.

Your tractor magnet on your trailer must not be working, or you would have filled up the trailer by the time you got home. At least it worked enough to attract one tractor.

BTW, congrats on the "new" tractor. It does look pretty nice.

Looks like it's in nice shape . I usually buy them with one foot in the grave . I have a lot of trouble walking away from any of them in any shape. What number is this one ?

Here are more pix of the Michigan Cub that was listed last Sunday for $500.00 that I brought home. Overall, I consider this a good one. Not sure I would drive so far again without asking more questions first, but still it is good.

engine crack.jpg
The crack was an unexpectant surprise. It looks to be some sort of an epoxy patch

front rim.jpg
Front tires and rims are in great shape.

rear rim.jpg
For as old as it is, I was surprise how well the rims are

tire cuts.jpg
The rear tires have some pretty deep wounds, but I will run them for now.

oil leak.jpg
I found this on my ramp when I was getting ready to unload. looks like an internal hydro leak.
steering gear.jpg
As fast as the oil is leaking, it looks to be less than gear oil. I'll check and clean the breather hole in the top plug and dran the oil to add heavier weight.

wiring.jpg
The wiring harness is brand new.

plow eyebolt.jpg
My understand is the original plow eyebolt was square.

hood holes.jpg
Can't understand why both holes were drilled, each a different size.

grill.jpg
Yes, it is a fine mesh grill. Much nicer than the coarse grill

pose.jpg
He looks good in front of the barn
