You talking like a New Holland 404 crimper, 7 foot width?
I would think not, but if you have the Cub, pto gear box reverser / speed reducer and a crimper, try it and see!
If I had the pto gear box reverser / speed reducer I would try it myself!
Be sure to let us know how it works if you hapen to give it a try!

Re: Hay crimper
I'm in the no column.
Internet search using the make and model of the crimper will disclose the suggested tractor HP.

I have an excuse. CRS.

Only reference I could find says 25hp+. And, of course, it would need the right sized PTO, turning in the correct direction.

Re: Hay crimper
It will pull it, just fine, as long as you don't engage the PTO! I'm not sure the Cub can stand the tongue weigh, I wouldn't waste my time.

In addition to getting the pto correct how about a howard despeeder? 25 hp just to run a crimper however may be a safe recommendation. I have run a Brillion mower/conditioner with an H. This crushed the stem the full length not just kinked it. Mowing/conditioning could be done at normal speed except when trying to put too much thru. It would then plug the conditioner and break the slip clutch loose but not bog the tractor down. Crusher conditioners fell out of favor quickly and I don't believe were made very long. It tended to plug too easy if there was large weeds found mostly in first cuttings. The mower portion was actually made by IH. The hay was run thru two smooth steel rollers. I have cut hay at 8 am and baled it at 4 pm. Vern

Re: Hay crimper
I was talking about the #1 , #2 , or #2a used in the late 50’s you pulled behind a sickle bar mower that had a rear pto and conditioned hay on second round. But just using conditioner and no mower .there would be no tongue load it’s balanced on two wheels .i would say it only weighs around 500lbs

The New Holland 404 crusher was the same principal.
Do you have the pto reverser / reducer unit?
I dont have one, so I can not try it!
I think a cub (with the pto reducer reverser) could handle a two basket tedder though!
What makes you want to use a cub to pull a crusher?

No. Baled hay. This is getting too far off the subject. Follow me over to Off Topic. Farming then and now.
