What mower is this?
On my new-to-me 1947 Cub. I first thought this was a Woods, but now have my doubts.
Opinions please.
Thanks much,
D

Re: What mower is this?
It looks like it might be a Pennington that someone has fabricated a stainless steel deck.

Re: What mower is this?
I'm not positive but I think the Pennington used the same spindles and blades as the IH/Danco decks.

Thanks, I saw that.
I'd like to have a PTO shield for it.

Just a PTO shield and not one over those foot amputators?

Well, there is that.
I’d take those also if I could find them.

Re: What mower is this?
Hi,
The mower looks like it needs moving ahead, it looks like it nearly hitting the rear tires in the pics, maybe it is just the pics making it look that way.
You might need a longer belt to move it ahead, if it won't loosen enough.
I don't know if it has brackets that let it move ahead, or if the brackets would need changing.

Yes, you are correct Glen. It is very close, but doesn't touch. It could be moved by drilling new holes in the rear mount. But then I'd never be able to figure out the right length for the belt. I'd need to find the new belt BEFORE I relocated it rearward to know where to drill. So I think it'll stay where it is for a while.

Re: What mower is this?
Am I the only one who thinks it's put together backwards ie the deck should be unbolted and turned 180 on it's mounting frame ? No idea what a Pennington looks like but if turned it would more resemble a Woods with the flat front and the angles on the back of the deck would then clear the wheels....

Re: What mower is this?
If you move your deck 2" forward your belt will need to be 4" longer. 3" forward you need 6" added to belt length.
