C2 mower

Postby Gidtex » Sat Jul 04, 2020 6:39 pm

Havent had any luck finding overrunning clutch pin & spring for c2 mower.so I'm going to use dowel pin & spring the same size as dowel pin . I'm going to drill holes all way thru on pulley then make a 1 inch thick washer and counter bore 4 holes for the spring and dowel washer to pulley so washer doesn't turn .I think it will work I have got over 40 year as a machinists. Thanks

Messick's shows both, but a set of 4 would cost about $175. Why can't you just replace the pins and springs?

I guess I should have said why not make the pins, match the springs and reassemble. Here's where I got springs a few years ago:

I have 2 pins but no spring, was thinking about pull out dowels and drilling the thread out to dimension of old pins.then get 4 spring from hardware store.

My link above gives the spring dimensions, etc. Pretty cheap from them.

Gidtex,

I have to work on my clutch and was able to purchase pins and springs from Messicks.

Why do you want to machine the pulley? What will the machining do?

I do not have any experience going into with this clutch but I do with the woods 42.
