Don't know for sure Brian but it is beginning to look like it.

The ATIS mail lists are back up and running after a much shorter outage, but ALL the ATIS bulletin boards are and have been down since October 12th. Spencer simply got tired of the many spam attacks, so it looks like the kooks have won this one. :( It must be rewarding to destroy a good thing. Image

Spencer hasn't commented either way, so there isn't an official ruling, but it doesn't look like they'll be back. :(

I sent an email to Spencer (5 weeks ago) asking the status. If the bboards are permanently gone, I would take the links off the Cub FAQ page. He hasn't replied.

Was it spam as in those advertisements that get posted willy nilly, or was it spam as in people kibitching and kamoaning about everything?

i read the atis board before i found this one. i continued to read it even after i found this one. many of the posts were repated from one to the other. i still liked it and it is still my next stop when i leave here. like a lot of other things in life it was spoiled for the many by the few. i would like to thank spencer for providing the board and hope some day it will be back. thanks again spencer.

Spencer sent a note explaining the outage on the main ATIS list... a big-time ice storm and the resulting power outage. Totally unrelated to the disappearance of the buletin boards. He didn't clarify the latter at all. :(
