It was such a nice day, I thought I would roll it out of the shop. It's been in there almost a year! But I have taken my time to do thing as correct as I know how. While I've got a little ways to go, here's what I've got done so far.
Removed alternator and put complete 6V system in.
Re-worked front end with new seals and bushings, straightend-out tie rods
and installed new tires.
Re-worked hood to fit better and welded in missing brackets. Minor Bondo job on front corner of hood.
Installed better engine front cover to better align fan pulley and cooling fan. Replaced front seal and oil pan gasket.
Replaced rubber fuel line with steel.
Re-built the hydraulic pump, and replaced lines.
Other minor tin straightening. Liberally applied 2150.
Those are not the rear rims and tires I plan to use. I'm going to have another set galvanized, and get new tires.

Looking Great HR. Mine is sitting in just about the same condition as yours. I need to put the decals on to finish. I put one decal on yesterday just for a test, The one on the back of the PTO. I am gonna hunt up some good pictures of decal placement one of these days and finish the job. After Donny screwed up on his first attempt it scared me.
Then came Bronson

HR,
Looks SUPER!! You'll have loads of fun this coming spring and summer! As if you already haven't! Getting all that done is half the fun.
I took my rear wheels and sandblasted them then wire brushed them with one of those cup brushes and applied a liberal coat of cold galvanizing spray. Then I painted my tires with that Miller tire paint. They came out pretty good. I'll see if I can post a picture tonight when I get home. Keep up the good work!

I bought an old tractor all dusty and worn,
knew nothing about her just the year she was born
I washed her and greased her and painted her red
Now she lives happily right here in my shed.

Yeah, it is a good feeling, and thanks for the compliments. My Dad is currently working on a '60 Lo-Boy. It's about 50% done. He's got a lot of patience. He worked for weeks to straighten out the hood and dog-leg emblems....but they turned out perfect. As far as the seat, well, I'm trying to fill in the rusted out spots on it. I'm not too happy with the way it's turning out, but I'm going to keep at it.

Harold,
It's really looking good! It won't be long now.
When I built the tricycle Cub I used mostly reconditioned junk parts. The two seats were already on the junk pile when I rescued them. I planned to either add tie on covers or replace them, since they were so full of holes after sandblasting you could nearly read a newspaper through them. As a temporary repair I used fiberglass resin and an old linen table cloth to reinforce the BADLY rusted metal. they came out pretty good. They're in their 6th year and haven't been covered yet. Maybe never!
