A welder back ground former boss insisted that welding on tanks meant filling tank with water and capping to get rid of fumes. Fumes being what burn.
That meant something else about liquid gas I won't repeat here , but fumes are the concern...
Vent would need to be working , should any heated water expand. Obviously any unplugged port or hole would need to be positioned on top...
