Carb inlet repair

Postby delco32 » Thu Jan 02, 2020 2:23 pm

I've rebuilt a carb for a 55 Cub. It went fine and it works well, with the exception of the inlet fitting,. I used the TM fuel line and after trimming the length, it looked great, but wont seal at the carb as it has bad threads and strips.

Aside from fabbing a 5/16 compression union and using a dies to make the one side 20 threads, has anyone recut the carb inlet with a timesert or other thread insert to restore the original look?

Thank you

Mike'
