Lift Rod (TC system)

Postby PINE-KNOT » Fri Nov 25, 2005 4:41 pm

I noticed that there are two types of lift rods (running from the TC unit to the rocker shaft)--one straight and the other, offset. Is the a way to tell which one you need? It looks like ours might need an offset type. Is this a function of the length of the shaft coming out of the TC unit? Working on setting up a Cub to help with hurricane debris cleanup and we're in need of the rocker shaft assembly and the rod too. I'm drawing up a design for a landscape rake that will bolt to the drawbar and hinge up using the TC lift and the Cub we bought had the rocker & lift rod removed. Thanks,

Kevin

The offset rod is for early cubs with the long eared dash. The straight rod is for short eared dash tractors
You can check out the difference at this link:

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Thanks Bigdog--I had been to that site before and never noticed those photos. I checked the dash and we have the early long-eared style. Guess we need the offset rod. Will the straight rod actually impact the dash or what??

#1 What kind of damage would be caused if the wrong rods are used.with the wrong dash??? Just wondering.
#2 Can 40's parts be used on the mid to late 50's tractors????

Jeff, if you have the short ear dash it won't make any difference, but if you have the long ear dash the straight rod rubs the side of it.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!
