I'll admit it Dale... couldn't figure out why the two halves seemed loose but kept pulling back together! Doh!

Oh, and fair warning, there are many more of those moments waiting to get you!! You just have to stop...take a deep breath, look around, and if an answer doesn't come readily, get on the forum and ask, as you did!
And it does help us ALL when you are willing to admit something (good or bad) so that MAYBE we can learn from reading rather than personal experience!
You might try attending the Rocky Mountain Cubfest Sep 5-7. I'm sure you would have fun and learn a lot about these little fellas!

Re: Splitting Cub - Stuck!
Wow, I think my wife is planning a camping trip out in Colorado about that time to spend some time with her daughter. Should I take "her" Cub with us for this RockyMountain Cub event? But we better get this one fixed before then so she can mow some grass!

Re: Splitting Cub - Stuck!
It would be a super time to meet some great forum folks, especially the hosts, Bob McCarty and his wife. He is the Carb Guru, so if you are having any problems with your carb, I bet he can take care of it! These cubfests are fun, informative and a chance to get some real work done with the help of others who have "been there"! Definitely try to go.

On our first split we had difficulty getting it apart too. I actually thought the dowel was a broken off bolt and drilled it out. Luckily you can buy replacement dowels.
