Trying to work a deal on a fast hitch plow. What's one worth? It does not have the Colter though.

If it has a good moldboard, point, share and land side $125-$175 without the coulter. If it's got worn out wear parts it's not worth a lot because it will cost you more to replace those than it's worth.

Okie dokie, thank ya. It's part of a package deal and I know the worth of everything but that. I don't have a fast hitch but could be good trade material.

Why is it worth less than a 193 setup? Because of the 193 needing more parts to make one work?

I just don't think there is that big of a demand for either of them, 193 or 194. Most people that use or need them already have them and most other people don't use them. We have 3 194's and I have yet to put one in the ground.

Yeah not much money in this older stuff anymore unfortunately. Not many people are interested. I'm 30 and very few my age interested in this stuff. Kinda heartbreaking.

If you have a 194 minus the coulter it will cost you a bunch to get a coulter if you need one. I would always look for a 194 with a coulter. Then if you have to sell it, it’s usually easier to sell with a coulter. Make sure the wear parts on the plow are good. It doesn’t cost that much more to buy a good plow that is complete. Look around and compare.

I have had a few, bought one for $90, one for $100 and one came with a tractor. Ours get used every year, my fiancé is 32 and has been doing all the plowing for 5 years, she loves the fast hitch tools and switches them out in a New York minute. My neighbor Devin is 13 and was interested in learning to plow and he turned over the garlic bed for our fall planting. Jase, younger folks are into stuff like plowing, it is really cool watching the soil roll over. Devin was extremely excited about it and told anyone that would listen about it.

Hello
Im also looking for a plow, not a fast hitch though. I cant find one with the adjusting lever. Im not sure what its called, a lever, or bracket arm... which is not helping me with my search for a complete set up. Is the lever some thing that stays with the tractor when separating for a sale? And is it essential for plowing? I just dont know what i should be looking for as far as a parts list when shopping. I have a cub with hydrolics, a rock shaft and drawbar.
Thanks

There are a lot of Cub-193 plows out there. Some are worn pretty bad and some are real good. If you can find a real good Cub-193 with the plow depth lever you can expect to pay about $175.00 - $250.00. If you have to buy the depth lever by itself you can expect to pay $100.00 to $150.00 for just the lever w/dog bone and eyebolt. They are around. Patience is key in finding the right one for you. Good Luck!! (These are just my humble opinions)

Hi,
Below are pics from TM Tractor of a Cub 193 Plow on a Cub. They have to have the lever to the right side of the seat to control the height of the drawbar.
Not all Cub plows have the chain on the right side that goes to the lever bracket.

http://www.tmtractor.com/tm-tractor/gim ... ow_001.htm

Below is the Cub 193 Plow owner's manual.
You don't use the manual control lever shown in it, to the left of the seat, if you have Touch Control.

http://farmallcub.com/rudi_cub/www.clea ... index.html

Some people on here have said that the levers and plows get separated sometimes, when selling a tractor, or plow. :)

Thanks guys for the information. With it, i know understand what i need to look for. I was very worried my inexperiance would lead me to a purchase that would end up being a mail box decoration by the street. Thanks

It's the old story when your looking for one they are all expensive, when you are selling nobody has any money. They are a lot of fun to plow with and will teach you a lot about setting a plow if you do it wrong the tractor will let you know in a hurry my soil is heavy clay and it has to be wet enough to slice buy dry enough to get traction. I think I paid 75 or 100 for my fast hitch plow about 20 years ago.
