Some NAPA Part Numbers

Postby TallCoolOne58 » Fri Oct 26, 2018 9:10 am

I have compiled a small list of some NAPA part numbers relevant to Farmall Cubs, for my own reference and use at home, that I thought some members might find useful. Please note that the NAPA/Echlin part numbers are for the 'best quality' parts I prefer to use, some listed are just common use part numbers.

Point set-Bat Ign or Mag: ECH CS1600
Condensor-Bat Ign or Mag: ECH IH200
Distributor Cap-Bat Ign or Mag: ECH IH350
Distributor Rotor-Bat Ign Only: ECH IH300
Oil Filter-NAPA Gold (Wix): 1153
Voltage Regulator-6 Volt Positive Ground:VR851
Thread Sealant-Aviation Grade Gasoline Resistant: 765-1210 (Permatex #80019)
Point Grease-Moly Lubricant: ECH ML1
Spark Plugs:
Autolite: ASP 3116 (Non-Resistor, 'Cold')
Champion: CHA 516 (D16, Non-Resistor, 'Cold')
CHA 549 (D18Y, Non-Resistor, 'Warm',
Projected Tip)
CHA 502 (D21, Non-Resistor, 'Hot')

Hope this helps, as you try to source your parts for maintenance and tune-ups.

Thank you!
You might say that List is (NAPA) gold! ;)
I’m going to copy it.

You're welcome, of course. They are not what you would call inexpensive, esp the voltage regulator but-Made in USA, zero problems so far. Imo, Echlin makes good old-fashioned quality parts.

You made me think that I had something to share in this. I had a torn printout dated in the corner 1/21/2009 that was surprisingly right at hand that was provided to me by “Yogie”
redfin wrote:Napa coil #IC14SB less than 20

Yep, my last NAPA 12 volt coil with built in reducer cost about $16
Yogie

So there you go! Passed from Redfin to Yogie to me now to you ;)
Don’t ya love how this works 8)
This is for a later Cub or one like mine converted to 12v. I can tell you it’s the right part and has worked well in mine for what now? Almost 10 years? Damn that went by quick!

Here's various part numbers and stuff I've saved while getting mine running again. Some of this I chased down and some was saved from posts here and I thought were keepers. Credits to the original posters.

Group 26 battery (7"x8"x7") For 12v conversion

Hydraulic Oil IHC Hytran MS 1209 compliant

90w gear oil

30w engine oil

Engine Oil Filter: AC P-321, Fram C-235, NAPA 1153, Wix 51153, Purolator L2008 or L2009, Fleetguard LF-672 (I cornered the local market on the Fram filters when TSC put them on clearance)

OIl Filter gasket? See O-rings

Filter Bolt copper washer
ID 1/2"
OD 7/8"
1/16" thick

Plugs (gap .023): Champion D-21, AC C86/C88, Autolite 386/377/378, Bosch M12A, Motorcraft BT10, Prestolite 1810,

Points: Borg-Warner H54, Echlin(NAPA) CS 1600 (Coil ignition gap: .020, Magneto Ignition gap: .013

Gas Gauge Stick (I used a 12" paint roller handle and keep it in the toolbox under the seat):
1 gallon = 1 3/4"
2 gallon = 2 5/8"
3 gallon = 3 7/16"
4 gallon= 4 5/16"
5 gallon = 5 5/16"
6 gallon = 6 1/4"
7 gallon = 7 1/2"
Full= 9"

Hyd Pump 355006R92 Pesco 051 004 041 06 (mine and there's other part nos too)

O-Ring sizes:

Hyd Pump Drive Shaft (problem child)
11/16 x 1/2 x 3/32 (112) 1 ea
Buna-N .17ea Viton .66 ea
Bearing Seal
15/16 x 3/4 x 3/32 2 ea (115)
Buna N .20 ea Viton .88 ea
Bearing Seal
7/8 x 3/4 x 1/16 2 ea (018)
Buna N .19 ea Viton .62 ea

Oil Filter o-rings
Bolt Gasket 112 11/16 x 1/2 x 3/32
Filter Top 232 3 x 2 3/4 x 1/8

Pump Manifold
7/8 x 21/32 x 7/64 2 ea
0.8750 0.6563 0.1094

This what I used on the Hydraulic pump shaft as my shaft was grooved enough that a regular replacement o-ring's ability to seal was doubtful. It's been a year now and it's still working good.

Quattro X-Ring McMaster-Carr part 6540K136 $14.88 for 25.

O-Ring Store LLC
112 Buna-N 70 .17 each, min 3.
112 Viton 75 .66 each, no min.
Waking up the ol' Cub

Nah, it's not leaking oil. It's just marking it's territory.

Nice. The more items on a consolidated post, the better imo. I should have noted that if you buy the Napa thread sealant, and point grease, you pretty much have a lifetime supply lol.

Luckily, I haven't had to dive into my Touch-Control hydraulic system-yet. (Knock on wood).

Edit: the Autolite 3116 is a non-resistor spark plug rated as 'Warm' or 'Medium Hot' by the manufacturer, and has a 'Power Tip' (projected insulator, center and ground electrode) which I think makes it more similar to a Champion D18Y. I apologize for any confusion.

Good info on a variety of parts. I bought a 1953 F-Cub this summer and am getting oriented. I ran the Woods mower this year without any issues, but have a running list of stuff that should be maintained or replaced when I find time, maybe this winter, so appreciate all the info. We have a NAPA that is convenient, and an IH Case dealer that is a little further, but I have not been there yet. Thanks to all for sharing the info.
